Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2, 2026
Plain language. No tricks. We want you to actually understand what you're agreeing to.
1. Agreement to These Terms
By creating an account and using My3Contacts, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms apply to the parent or guardian account holder.
By creating a child account, you confirm that you are the child's parent or legal guardian, or that you have the permission of the child's parent or legal guardian to create and manage the account on their behalf.
2. What My3Contacts Is
My3Contacts is a web-based service that lets parents create and manage a list of emergency contacts that their children can access from any device. Parents control the contacts and child accounts. Children have read-only access to the contacts assigned to them.
My3Contacts is not an emergency service, emergency dispatcher, or monitoring service. We do not monitor child accounts, detect emergencies, contact emergency contacts on your behalf, or guarantee that any contact can be reached. In an emergency, always call 911 or your local emergency services first.
The service is intended to supplement — not replace — other emergency preparedness measures your family takes, including teaching your child key phone numbers from memory.
3. Your Account and Responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Do not share your parent account password with anyone other than a trusted co-parent or guardian who has permission to manage the family account.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the contact information you enter. We display what you provide — please keep your emergency contacts up to date.
You are responsible for creating and managing your children's accounts, including setting appropriate usernames and passwords and ensuring your child knows how to access the service.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at support@my3contacts.com.
4. Acceptable Use
My3Contacts is a family safety tool. Please use it as such. You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
- Enter false or misleading contact information with intent to deceive
- Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or disrupt the service
- Use the service to harass, impersonate, manipulate, endanger, track, exploit, or otherwise harm a child or any other person
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms.
5. Subscription and Billing
My3Contacts costs $1 per month, billed annually at $12 per year. This gives you full access to all features — unlimited children, up to 100 contacts, and everything described on the Pricing page. The total price, including any applicable taxes, will be shown clearly before you confirm payment at checkout.
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period — you will not be charged again, and you retain full access until the period ends.
Except where required by law, we do not offer partial refunds for unused time. If something has gone wrong and you believe a refund is warranted, please reach out and we will review your situation fairly.
We may update our pricing in the future. If we do, we will notify you at least 30 days in advance and give you the option to cancel before the new price takes effect.
6. Your Data
Your data belongs to you. We do not sell it, share it for advertising purposes, or use it for any purpose other than operating the service for your family.
For full details on how your data is collected, stored, and protected, please read our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
7. Intellectual Property
My3Contacts, including its design, software, text, branding, and features, is owned by us or our licensors. All rights are reserved.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the service for your family's personal use in accordance with these Terms. This licence does not allow you to copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the service.
8. Service Availability
We aim to keep My3Contacts available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Planned maintenance, infrastructure issues, or events outside our control may cause temporary downtime.
Because My3Contacts is not an emergency service and requires internet access to function, we strongly encourage you to also teach your child key phone numbers from memory and to have other emergency plans in place that do not depend on internet access or any particular device.
9. Limitation of Liability
My3Contacts is provided in good faith as a helpful tool for families. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any harm arising from inability to access the service, inaccurate contact information entered by the account holder, internet outages, device issues, or reliance on the service as a sole emergency plan.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Termination and Data
You may cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.
If your account is cancelled or terminated, your access to the service will end at the close of your current billing period (for voluntary cancellation) or immediately (for termination due to a violation). We will handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy. You may request deletion of your account data by contacting us, subject to legal, security, billing, and backup retention requirements.
11. Changes to These Terms
If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before they take effect. The notice will explain what changed, when it takes effect, and what you can do if you do not agree. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process or your express consent. If you do not agree with a change, you may cancel your account before it takes effect.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict of law rules.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection laws that cannot be waived by contract. If a provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
Questions?
If anything in these Terms is unclear or you have a question, please ask. We would rather you understand what you're agreeing to.
